This is an Invitational Only Tournament

What is the Big Game Battle?

Beginning with just three boats and some recreational fishermen, the Big Game Battle tournament has now been a highlight for Nantucket summers for twenty years. Over 50 boats now participate in this invitational tournament and has raised over $1 Million. This event would not be possible if not for the participants and sponsors who continue to support the Big Game Battle & our cause year after year.

For several years, we have successfully raised funding for many charities at The
Big Game Battle including: The Corey C. Griffin Foundation, The Dana-Farber
Cancer Research Institute
and The Jimmy Fund to support Leukemia Research and
Patient Care, Juvenile Diabetes, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, The Boys and
Girls Club
of Dorchester, The Nantucket S.T.A.R. Program, ALS, Camp Harbor View,
The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, The International Rett Syndrome Foundation,
and Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital
Program.

Set in the history-rich Island of Nantucket, MA

This annual summer event is an offshore sport fishing tournament held on
the history-rich Island of Nantucket. Fishing is allowed East or South of the
Island for a wide variety of game fish from Bluefin, Yellowfin, Albacore, Mahi
Mahi, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Big Eye and more. The Nantucket Boat
Basin is centrally located to fish these waters. The Island also boasts an
active nightlife. The hospitality of the Dock Master and Professional Crews
has been most accommodating since the inception of this event in 2002.

This is not a ‘money’ tournament. We do support the competition between the boats and crews. However, our most important goal is to have a fun weekend with friends and return home with memorable stories.
